Terms and Conditions

  • The AA reserves the right to amend submitted text from a client prior to printing if required for legislative, layout or other considerations
  • Text on AA Signs is normally limited to 12 characters across (including spaces) and 3 lines down.  While more text can be included if necessary, we recommend text is kept to a minimum to ensure greater exposure of your event/exhibition.
  • In certain circumstances, permission from local authorities to erect directional signs may be required. It is recommended that the event organiser contact the relevant local authorities to let them know that directional signs will be going up for an event.  Where any separate permission fees are required, these are payable directly to that authority by the client in advance of confirming AA Signs bookings and responsibility for any such fees and/or fines resultant from the installation of AA Signs are borne by the event organiser.
  • 2-3 weeks' notice should be given to the AA for events/exhibitions requiring directional signage, both for administration and printing purposes.
  • AA Signs cannot be moved, removed or replaced free of charge. Any amendments to signage, once erected, are at the discretion of the AA and may incur a fee. Any fines and/or penalties resulting from the non- submission of a traffic plan etc. will be payable by the event organiser.
  • The onus is on the client to provide the AA with details of any preferred locations or traffic plans (by Gardai/local authorities) for their event.  This must be provided in writing either at the time of booking or at least one week before signs are due to be erected.  If this information is not provided, the AA must presume that there is no traffic plan and signs will be erected in locations at the discretion of the AA Signs Officer
  • AA Signs are erected to direct the motoring public to an event and will be erected prior to the opening of the event to the general public.  They are not erected in advance to direct those involved in setting-up the event; however in certain circumstances, signs may go up earlier to facilitate the AA Signs schedule of signage installation and removal.  Please inform us at booking if you do not want signage to your event to go up earlier than a certain date.
  • The AA operates an upfront payment policy; Signs cannot be scheduled, printed or erected prior to receiving payment.  Furthermore, priority will be given in our signs schedule to paid clients.
  • In the event of a cancellation and if AA Signs have not been printed, the client will be invoiced in full.
  • AA Signs cannot be erected on motorways or dual-carriageways without the expressed permission of the National Roads Authority.  This can take up to one month to secure and is not guaranteed, so please advise us at time of booking if motorway signage is required.  The AA will not be liable for replacement or refund following the removal of signage by the NRA
  • It is an offence to tamper with AA Signs.  Any tampering will result in a direct fine of up to €400.
